Introduction
There has been an explosion of research into the metabolic changes that underlie varied physiological and diseased states and the signaling pathways that control metabolism in response to metabolites. This meeting will bring together experts at the intersection of metabolism and signal transduction to discuss their latest work. Themes to be covered include energy and metabolite sensing; organellar signaling; autophagy; the aging process; cancer, immune, and stem cell metabolism; and metabolism in host-pathogen interactions. Confirmed speakers study metabolism from diverse perspectives, so presentations will cover a broad range of approaches and topics, from work in humans to structural biology. The symposium will have about 30 speakers and include two Keynote presentations, one with a focus more on metabolism and the other on signaling. There will be plenty of time for networking and excursions in the beautiful city of Prague.
